Hollywood’s most notorious maverick Tom Cruise is finally being feted by the Academy Award. On November 16, the actor was awarded an Honorary Oscar at the Academy’s Governors Awards, receiving a long-overdue salute to his impact on cinema. The 63-year-old superstar accepted the honor from director Alejandro G. Iñárritu at the Ray Dolby Ballroom in Los Angeles, touching on how deeply filmmaking runs through his identity.

After months of rumored helicopter dates, night outs, and subtle nods to each other at the red carpets, Tom Cruise and Ana de Armas appear to confirm they’re together by holding hands during an outing in Vermont this week. The “Mission: Impossible” star and the actress have been linked up since February, when they were seen cozying up to each other in London. 

With Mission: Impossible - Final Reckoning currently tearing it up at the global box office, Tom Cruise’s exhilarating stunt in the film also notched an impressive feat. The film’s death defying biplane stunt just got awarded the Guinness World Record for the “most burning parachute jumps by an individual” for leaping out of a helicopter 16 times before lighting his chute on fire in The Final Reckoning.

Since February, news has been brewing of a potential new romance between Mission: Impossible star Tom Cruise and actress Ana de Armas. The two were caught spending time together multiple times, sparking a dating rumor. But could it be just a publicity stunt?
