DaBaby has been topping the Billboard Hot 100 with “Rockstar” now, but have you ever wondered how he rose to such prominence?
DaBaby, a.k.a. Jonathan Lyndale Kirk, became seriously interested in music in 2014. In 2015, he released his debut mixtape “Nonfiction.” It was quickly followed by subsequent mixtapes – “God’s Work,” “Baby Talk,” “Billion Dollar Baby” and “Back on My Baby Jesus Sh*t.”
He got his big break after one show in North Carolina. He signed a deal with the South Cost Music Group. DaBaby started gaining recognition. However, big prominence came in 2019 with his recording deal with the Interscope Records.
His debut album “Baby on Baby” was released on 1 March 2019 and peaked at no. 7 at the US Billboard 200. It was followed by two more albums – “Kirk” (2019) and “Blame It on Baby” (2020). Both of them turned out to be huge commercial successes as they topped the US album charts!
DaBaby is currently on the rise. With so many successful projects, he definitely has a bright future ahead of him!
