Netflix has confirmed the streaming premiere date for its latest acquisition from the Sundance Film Festival. The highly acclaimed drama “Fair Play” will be available to watch in October following its debut screenings. Check out the stars of the film, Alden Ehrenreich and Phoebe Dynevor, in the trailer.
The film focuses on the story of a successful New York couple: Emily (Dynevor) and Luke (Ehrenreich) can’t live without each other, but when the opportunity for a coveted promotion arises in the ruthless corporate world, their relationship and mutual support take a darker turn. As their relationship undergoes an irreversible change, Luke and Emily must confront the true cost of success and the unsettling limits of ambition. Eddie Marsan and Rich Sommer also star in the film.
“Fair Play” marks Chloe Domont’s feature-length debut, as she is responsible for both the screenplay and direction. Previously, Domont worked on TV series like “Billions,” “Suits,” and “Players.” Netflix acquired the distribution rights for approximately $20 million. Other studios, including Searchlight and Neon, were also vying for the opportunity to showcase the film, but the streamer ultimately emerged as the victor. It’s now confirmed that “Fair Play” will be available to audiences on October 13th of this year.
