Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, is getting christened today (6 July 2019) at the St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle during a private ceremony.
Archie will be wearing a beautiful lace robe for his christening. This is the exact replica of the dress commissioned by Queen Victoria for the christening of her first child – Adelaide Mary Louisa in 1841.
The chapel itself was created for Queen Victoria in the 1800s and rebuilt in 1994 after it has been destroyed in the fire in 1992.
In attendance: Prince Charles and his wife Camila, Doria Ragland (Meghan’s mother), Prince William and his wife Katherine, godparents. It is unclear whether the Queen herself will attend the ceremony today.
There will be no public photoshoot after the ceremony. It is possible, however, that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will release some images from the christening via their official Instagram account.
