The first teaser for the upcoming series “The Gentlemen” has surfaced online, teasing the spin-off of Guy Ritchie’s 2019 film. The series, created by Ritchie himself, features Theo James, Kaya Scodelario, and Ray Winstone in lead roles.
The protagonist of “The Gentlemen” is Eddie Horniman (James), who inherits an extensive estate from his father. Soon, he discovers that the property houses the marijuana empire of Mickey Pearson (Matthew McConaughey), known from the original film. Can a simple soldier navigate the intricacies of the British underworld and take control of the entire illegal operation?
Ritchie serves as an executive producer for the series, co-writing the pilot script with Matthew Read, and directing the first two episodes. The series is planned to consist of eight episodes.
The cast includes Theo James, Kaya Scodelario, Ray Winstone, Daniel Ings, Joely Richardson, Vinnie Jones, Giancarlo Esposito, Chanel Cresswell, Michael Vu, Max Beesley, Jasmine Blackborow, Harry Goodwins, Dar Salim, Pearce Quigley, and Peter Serafinowicz.
The premiere date on Netflix is March 2024.
