Pop sensation Selena Gomez has released her first new song of 2024, a flirty track titled “Love On”. The song, which is specifically about new love blossoming in Paris, was produced by the Monsters & Strangerz and Isaiah Tejada.
The lyrics, co-written by Gomez, Julia Michaels, Michael Pollack, Tejada, and Jordan K. Johnson and Stefan Johnson of The Monsters & Strangerz, hint at a romantic rendezvous in the City of Love. The song is inspired by Gomez’s recent experiences in the French city.
The music video for “Love On” also premiered on February 22, 2024. It reflects Gomez’s love for France and features scenes of her interacting with a puppy while couples canoodle in the background.
“Love On” follows Gomez’s 2023 single “Single Soon,” a carefree ode to independence produced by Benny Blanco, who is now Gomez’s boyfriend. Both songs are expected to appear on Gomez’s upcoming fourth album.
Gomez has been hinting at a new album, which she described as “really powerful, strong, very pop” in a recent interview with Vanity Fair. She also mentioned that the theme of the album is freedom – freedom from relationships and from the darkness.
In addition to her music, Gomez has been busy with her acting career. Her Hulu series “Only Murders in the Building” has been renewed for a fourth season, and she was recently nominated for a Golden Globe for her role on the show. She is also set to portray Linda Ronstadt in an upcoming biopic and will star alongside Zoe Saldana in the musical “Emilia Perez” later this year.
