HBO revealed a first look at the sophomore season of its hit ‘Game of Thrones’ prequel and announced six new castmembers.
The first serial prequel of “Game of Thrones,” called “House of the Dragon,” is being promoted this weekend in Brazil at the CCXP event. The production has just released its first trailer and will return to HBO Max in early 2024.
Based on George R.R. Martin’s book “Fire & Blood,” the series focuses on events that took place 200 years before those depicted in “Game of Thrones.” It tells the story of the Targaryen family and centers around a period known as the Dance of the Dragons, a bloody civil war that nearly ended the rule of the powerful house.
Returning for the second season of “House of the Dragon” are: Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Emma D’Arcy, Eve Best, Steve Toussaint, Fabien Frankel, Ewan Mitchell, Tom Glynn-Carney, Sonoya Mizuno, and Rhys Ifans.
