Alan Rickman was an English actor and director. His filmography as an actor is quite rich, however, Alan is known to the younger generation as Severus Snape from the “Harry Potter” movie series. He was nominated to the recognised Tony Award for his portrayal of Vicomte de Valmont in “Les Liaisons Dangereuses.” His role as the title character in “Rasputin: Dark Servant of Destiny” scored him a Golden Globe Award, an Emmy Award and a Screen Actors Guild Award. He died in 2014 after succumbing to pancreatic cancer.
