Elle Fanning To Play Effie Trinket In ‘The Hunger Games: Sunrise On The Reaping’

The Great star Elle Fanning has the odds in her favor. The 27-year-old actress just joined the cast of “The Hunger Games: Sunrise On The Reaping” as Effie Trinket. She will play a younger version of the Games’ immaculately-attired stylist role originated by Elizabeth Banks. In Reaping, Effie is designated to be District 12 Tribute Haymitch Abernathy‘s stylist for the 50th Hunger Games a.k.a. the Second Quarter Quell. Newcomer Joseph Zada has been cast in the Haymitch role, previously played by Woody Harrelson.

Ralph Fiennes Cast as President Snow in “The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping”

The English actor, best known for playing Lord Voldemort in five Harry Potter films, has been cast as President Coriolanus Snow in the upcoming Hunger Games prequel, Sunrise on the Reaping. Fiennes would be the third actor to portray the character after the late Donald Sutherland in the original four films and Tom Blyth in the 2023 prequel Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes.

"Sunrise on the Reaping," the second prequel to the dystopian franchise "Hunger Games," has finalized the main cast for its upcoming film adaptation. The film, based on Suzanne Collins’ bestselling novel, is set 24 years before Katniss volunteered to join the Games and will chronicle the time Haymitch Abernathy – the character originated by Woody Harrelson – became a Tribute for District 12.

“Hunger Games” Prequel Movie Is in the Works

The new "Hunger Games" novel, "The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes," will be adapted by director Francis Lawrence, screenwriter Michael Arndt and producer Nina Jacobson. Written by Suzanne Collins, the new book will be available for sale on 19 May in the US, Canada, the UK and Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand.
