Warner Bros. Pictures has released the official trailer for the new version of the movie “The Witches” that will premiere exclusively in the United States on HBOMax on 22 October 2020. The first version of “The Witches” starring Anjelica Huston premiered in 1990.
Viewers expect the 2020 movie to follow more faithfully the work of Roald Dahl – since “The Witches” book was only a inspiration for the 1990 movie.
The 2020 movie stars Anne Hathaway as Grand High Witch, Octavia Spencer as Grandmother, Stanley Tucci as Mr. Stringer, Chris Rock as narrator.

The film tells the darkly humorous and heartwarming tale of a young orphaned boy who, in late 1967, goes to live with his loving Grandma in the rural Alabama town of Demopolis. As the boy and his grandmother encounter some deceptively glamorous but thoroughly diabolical witches, she wisely whisks our young hero away to an opulent seaside resort. Regrettably, they arrive at precisely the same time that the world’s Grand High Witch has gathered her fellow cronies from around the globe—undercover—to carry out her nefarious plans.
