Netflix has announced that production for Virgin River season 7 is back in production. The notice was posted to the @virginriverseries official Instagram account, alongside a photo of series leads Martin Henderson and Alexandra Breckenridge, followed by a group photo with extended cast members Colin Lawrence, Tim Matheson, Annette O’Toole, Sarah Dugdale, and Kai Bradbury.

Henderson also relayed the news on his personal Instagram account.

“Season 7 of #virginriver !!!!! Day 1 – here we go……!!!! So stoked to be back at it doing what I love for all of you who love the show,” he wrote in the caption. “Thank you @netflix for your thoughtful gifts and the continued support and thank YOU to all the fans who keep us coming back here to make this cozy, heartfelt show. It’s an honor to be putting this thing out there for y’all 🙏❤️”

In the video, the 50-year-old actor was unboxing a gift box Netflix sent him on the first day of shooting.

“I want to make this the best season yet for you guys, because I wouldn’t be there, none of us would be here, if it wasn’t for you people that love the show and support the show,” the New Zealand native said. “I am so grateful. So from the bottom of my heart, thank you…I hope we’re going to make a ripper of a show for you this season. Stay tuned.”

Heading into season 7, Virgin River will also be welcoming two new cast members, Sara Canning (The Vampire Diaries) and Cody Kearsley (Riverdale). Canning plays a former police officer who was injured in the line of duty and joins the state medical board, while Kearsley stars as Clay, who comes to town in search of his sister.

The forthcoming season, which picks up right after Mel and Jack’s wedding, is set to premiere on Netflix in early 2026.
