To commemorate the beginning of shooting, “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” star Tom Holland suits up in a brand new design that has fans ensnared in nostalgia.
The short clip, shot in a soundstage, shows the English actor getting ready to presumably shoot a scene in full costume. Keen-eyed fans immediately noticed the 90’s comic book influence on the suit, while others point out that the new design feels like a “perfect mix between Tobey Maguire’s and Andrew Garfield’s version”. Some theory suggests that Holland’s Peter is perhaps inspired by the former two after meeting them in “Spider-Man: No Way Home.”
The latest installment in the webslinger’s adventure is currently filming in Pinewood Studios in London. “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” helmer Dustin Daniel-Cretton is taking over directing duty from Jon Watts, director of the first three Spidey films starring Holland. The film will also see the return of Zendaya and Jacob Batalon in their respective roles as Michelle Jones and Ned Leeds, as well as franchise newcomers Liza Colon-Zayas, Jon Bernthal as The Punisher, and Sadie Sink as Gwen Stacy. Recently, it was also announced that Mark Ruffalo would be making an appearance as Bruce Banner/The Hulk in the film.
