“The Mandalorian And Grogu” Super Bowl Trailer

447views

Lucasfilm brought Star Wars back to football’s biggest stage with a new teaser for The Mandalorian And Grogu, which aired during Super Bowl LX on February 8. The 30-second spot, later released online, offered audiences another glimpse of Din Djarin and Grogu as they transition from Disney+ favorites to theatrical leads, setting the tone for the franchise’s first movie release since 2019’s The Rise of Skywalker.

The footage leans heavily on atmosphere rather than plot. Shot across stark, snow-covered terrain, the teaser shows the armored Mandalorian traveling with Grogu by his side, riding tauntauns through an icy terrain reminiscent of Luke Skywalker in Star Wars Episode IV: The Empire Strikes Back. A gravelly voiceover from Sam Elliott narrates about purpose and perseverance strengthening the bond between our beloved duo, before ending with the series’ most iconic line: “This is the way.” The clip bypasses action-heavy reveals, instead emphasizing scale, isolation and the emotional connection that made the series a breakout hit.

Lucasfilm has kept story details under wraps. The official synopsis describes the film as a continuation of the journey begun in The Mandalorian, following Din Djarin and Grogu as they face new challenges in the galaxy following the fall of the Empire. Pedro Pascal returns as the title bounty hunter, with Jon Favreau directing and producing from a script he co-wrote with Dave Filoni. Previously announced cast members include Sigourney Weaver, Jeremy Allen White and Jonny Coyne.

The Super Bowl teaser arrives as anticipation grows for Star Wars’ theatrical comeback. The Mandalorian And Grogu is set for an exclusive theatrical release on May 22, 2026, including IMAX engagements worldwide.
