Gird your loin, Miranda Priestly and the rest of the Runway gang is back in action!

It has been confirmed that The Devil Wears Prada sequel has begun filming and more importantly, brought back its original stars to reprise their roles. That includes Anne Hathaway as journalist turned personal assistant (turned journalist again) Andie Sachs; Meryl Streep as Miranda, her former boss at Runway, the film’s Vogue-esque high fashion magazine; Emily Blunt as Miranda’s high strung British PA Emily Charlton; and Stanley Tucci as Runway’s art director Nigel.

In addition to the returning cast, Kenneth Branagh has also been cast to play Miranda‘s husband.

Disney, who now owns the property after they bought Twentieth Century Fox, announced the film’s return with a picture of two red stilettos, most likely by Prada.

“The Devil Wears Prada 2. Now in production,” the caption read.

The film will reportedly revisit Miranda as she faces the decline of the magazine publishing industry. In contrast, Emily (the character) has become a powerful executive of a luxury company, reversing her power dynamic with Miranda. The feud between the two will be the focal point of the plot. It is unclear how Andie will figure in all of this.

Aside from the cast, original director David Frankel and screenwriter Aline Brosh-McKenna also return to the project. The film is slated to hit theaters on May 1, 2026.
