The long-awaited third season of critically-acclaimed television series “The Crown” was released on Netflix on 17 November (Sunday).
The drama series created by Peter Morgan follows the reign and life of Queen Elizabeth II in the second half of the 20th century. The third season covers the period from 1964 and 1977. It begins with the election of Harold Wilson as Prime Minister and ends with the Queen celebrating the Silver Jubilee.
The main characters were replaced in the new season. Olivia Colman was cast as Queen Elizabeth II, Tobias Menzies as Prince Philip, Helena Bonham Carter as Princess Margaret, Josh O’Connor as Prince Charles and Geraldine Chaplin as Wallis.
The new season also introduces the characters of Camilla Shand (portrayed by Emerald Fennell) and Andrew Parker Bowles (played by Andrew Buchan).
