The Beatles Biopic Unveils First Looks of Paul Mescal, Barry Keoghan, Harry Dickinson, and Joseph Quinn As The Fab Four

The first official images from The Beatles – A Four-Film Cinematic Event are out – and people immediately come together to dissect the first glimpses of Paul Mescal as Paul McCartney, Harris Dickinson as John Lennon, Joseph Quinn as George Harrison and Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr in the Sam Mendes-directed biopics.
The images were shared this week via a creative rollout that invited fans to discover physical postcards hidden around the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts. Those postcards featured stills of the cast in full costume, prompting a wave of social media posts and discussion.
The Beatles biopic project is structured as four interlinked films, each focusing on one member of the band rather than condensing their collective story into a single movie. Mendes and co-writers Jez Butterworth, Peter Straughan and Jack Thorne have described this format as a way to explore each Beatle’s personal life and viewpoint with breadth and depth. The expanded narrative approach grew out of years of discussions between filmmakers and the surviving members of Apple Corps, who have approved creative direction and access to archival material.
Rather than a traditional press release, Sony and Apple Corps invited audiences to participate in a postcard scavenger hunt, an interactive reveal that dovetailed with the biopic’s celebration of Beatles lore and the Liverpool community that shaped the band’s origins. Fans quickly shared finds online, sparking speculation about costumes, tone and how the films will portray different eras of Beatles history.
The films also co-star Saoirse Ronan as Linda McCartney, James Norton as manager Brian Epstein, Anna Sawai as Yoko Ono, Aimee Lou Wood as Pattie Boyd and Mia McKenna-Bruce as Maureen Starkey, among others.
All four films are scheduled for simultaneous international release on April 7, 2028.
