Taylor Swift has earned another major chart achievement as “Opalite” rises to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, making it her 14th career chart-topper and her second No. 1 from her 2025 album The Life of a Showgirl. The surge — credited in part to the release of an elaborate music video earlier this month — boosted the breezy pop-rock cut seven spots to the top of the all-genre U.S. singles chart dated February 28, 2026.

Originally debuting at No. 2 upon its October 2025 release, “Opalite” gained fresh momentum when its official video premiered Feb. 6 on Spotify Premium and Apple Music before rolling out to wider platforms. The retro-tinged video – directed by Swift herself – featured star-studded cameo appearances by Domnhall Gleeson, Jodie Turner-Smith, Greta Lee, Lewis Capaldi, Graham Norton, and Cillian Murphy.

With “Opalite” at No. 1, Swift now ties Rihanna for the third-most Hot 100 leaders in chart history, trailing only The Beatles and Mariah Carey in total No. 1 hits. It’s also just the second time an album of hers has spawned multiple chart-toppers — a feat she last achieved with 1989 in 2014.

Swift marked the moment with behind-the-scenes celebrations on social media, sharing photos and video clips from the studio and Opalite video set. In her Instagram caption she wrote, “I can’t even sum up my excitement and I’m so blown away by the love you’ve shown this song and video,” adding gratitude for her fans’ support and reminiscing about the creative process with longtime collaborators. The achievement continues the massive success that her latest album, The Life of a Showgirl has been enjoying. Released in October last year, the album has sold over 6 million copies worldwide – making it the highest selling album of 2025.
