Never one to put out any release without theatrical fanfare, Taylor Swift suddenly dropped news of her next album, “The Life of a Showgirl”, while making her debut podcast appearance in boyfriend Travis Kelce’s show.
In a teaser clip for the “New Height” podcast episode, the songstress – seated next to Travis – brought out a mint green briefcase emblazoned with orange “T.S.” and revealed to Travis’ brother Jason, the co-host of the pod, the still blurred cover of her new album. True to her numerology-loving self, the TS12 teaser was released on the 12th at exactly 12:12.
Midnight prior to the announcement, Taylor’s website launched a countdown to the 12:12 announcement. Predictably, the site crashed when the clock hit 0, only for the real announcement to come out on Taylor and New Height’s joint Instagram post.
Currently, the new album has no release date. Though fans who pre-ordered discover that shipping starts on October 13, her team insists that it is not the official release date.
