Taylor Swift Go See Maya Rudolph in “Oh Mary!”

Last Saturday, June 13, Taylor Swift attended a performance of the recent Broadway hit “Oh, Mary!” to support Maya Rudolph.

The 36-year-old singer attended the play with her fiancé, Travis Kelce, a professional football tight end. After the show ended, the couple went backstage to congratulate the cast. They posed for official photos with Maya Rudolph and some of the cast members.

Although they have always shown mutual respect—Rudolph praises Swift’s songwriting talent, and Swift is a huge fan of the comedy and the female cast of Saturday Night Live, and the fact that Swift has appeared on SNL countless times—this was the first time we had an official record of the two of them together.

The play was originally written by comedian Cole Estola. In a recent interview, he revealed that it is an reimagining of First Lady Mary Todd Lincoln. “This play is about a woman with a dream that no one around her understands. A dream that the whole world is telling her is stupid and doesn’t make any sense,” Estola told NPR.

Demand to see “Oh, Mary!” is huge. The show has established itself as the most sought-after ticket on all of Broadway right now. The current run with Maya Rudolph is scheduled to last only 8 weeks (from April 28 to June 20).
