Taylor Swift Announces Release Date and Tracklist for “The Life of a Showgirl” In Record-Breaking Podcast

On Tuesday, Taylor Swift shocked the world by announcing her 12th studio album “The Life of a Showgirl” on New Heights podcast, hosted by boyfriend Travis Kelce and his brother Jason. The trailer sent such a shockwave throughout the internet, the livestream of the episode crashed at one point and broke viewership number record: over 10 million views in just several hours. And it did not disappoint, as the popstar revealed a ton of details about her upcoming album during the nearly two-hour long podcast.
In the episode, Taylor dished on everything from her relationship with Travis, her reclaiming all of her masters over the summer, to the much-awaited deets about her upcoming album. She brought out a vinyl of the album, featuring herself in bejeweled showgirl regalia, half immersed in water. The Grammy winner also confirmed that the album is coming out on October 3 and that there would be 12 tracks in total. Her Instagram post shortly after the episode aired revealed that the album is produced by Max Martin and Shellback.

On the podcast, Taylor said that “The Life of a Showgirl” was made during the European leg of her record-breaking Eras Tour and would reveal “what was going on behind the scenes of my inner life during this tour, which was so exuberant and electric and vibrant.”
“It just comes from the most infectiously joyful, wild, dramatic place I was in in my life,” she added. “And so, that effervescence has come through on this record.”
