The Australian Open 2025 women's final saw the emergence of a new Grand Slam winner as American Madison Keys defeated Belarusia’s Aryna Sabalenka – a two-time defending champion – 6-3, 2-6, 7-5. The win marks the No. 19 player’s first-ever Grand Slam title.

Madison Keys defeated Elena Rybakina 6-3, 1-6, 6-3 in the fourth round of the Australian Open and advanced to the quarterfinals. Keys took almost two hours to hold off Rybakina in a thrilling match between the two.

On August 28, French tennis player Caroline Garcia shared a series of vile messages directed at her after she lost to Mexico’s Renata Zarazua at the US Open first-round match. 

Madison Keys defeated Maya Joint 6-4, 6-0 in the second round of the US Open and advanced to the third round. Keys took roughly one hour to hold off Joint in a business-as-usual match.
