Reflecting on 2025’s biggest music triumphs, Billboard year-end charts are, to no one’s surprise, dominated by the industry’s most prominent names – led by Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars, Lady Gaga, and Rosé.

MTV Video Music Awards just concluded its 2025 edition, with big names like Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars and Ariana Grande coming away with the most wins. Ariana Grande won the most coveted Video of the Year award for “Brighter Days Ahead” from her album “Eternal Sunshine”. 

Season 1 of ”Wednesday” unwittingly propelled Lady Gaga’s vintage track “Bloody Mary” to resurgence thanks to megaviral edits of show lead star Jenna Ortega dancing. Now, Lady Gaga is returning the favor. For Season 2, she’s contributing an aptly macabre original song, “The Dead Dance” — with music video directed by none other than Tim Burton himself. 

The American Music Awards 2025 delivers a star-studded spectacle of performances from host Jennifer Lopez, Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani, Renee Rapp, Benson Boone, Janet Jackson, and more. 

On Friday night, the Grammy winner’s head mic suddenly glitched and died as she was performing Abracadabra, only the second song in her “Mayhem” set. Thankfully, the Born This Way singer quickly rectified the situation with a handheld mic and carried on with the elaborate choreography for the dance-heavy tune. As she descended into the center stage, the pop star sneakily traded in the handheld device for another head mic and the set was back on course.

The highly anticipated music festival Coachella is set to kick off this weekend. Held at the Coachella Valley in California, the annual festival draws an average of 250,000 spectators to the desert for two weekends of star-studded musical acts, parties, and lifestyle events. This year, the headlining spots feature Lady Gaga, Green Day, and Post Malone.

The 2025 iHeartRadio Music Awards held its ceremony at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday. The award show featured performances by Billie Eilish, Bad Bunny, GloRilla, Gracie Abrams, Kenny Chesney, Muni Long and Nelly. 

Lady Gaga was one of the standout stars during Sunday’s Grammy Awards. Along with Bruno Mars, the singer won Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for their rousing ballad “Die With A Smile.” 

Amid all the hubbub around awards season, the Golden Raspberry Award a.k.a. The Razzies always stands out for awarding the opposite of the best in movies. The nominees for this year’s edition were announced on January 21, with Todd Phillips’ Joker: Folie à Deux leading in the nominations. The film racked up 7 nominations, 5 years after its predecessor, Joker, led the nominations at the 2020 Oscars with 11. Following close behind is Madame Web, Borderlands, Reagan and Megalopolis with 6 nominations each.

Lady Gaga has truly begun the rollout to her much anticipated seventh studio album. On social media, the Joker: Folie à Deux actress posts a teaser photo of her upcoming single, “Disease.” The bird eye view image depicts the 38-year-old levitating mid air in the middle of a road, having presumably been hit by the white car next to her. The word “Disease” is splashed on the tarmac.
