Carlos Alcaraz defeated Jannik Sinner 4-6, 6-7 (4), 6-4, 7-6 (3), 7-6 (2)  in the final of the 2025 French Open. Alcaraz took more than five hours and a half to hold off Sinner in a thrilling final match between the two. In the third set, Carlos even saved three championship points.

On Sunday, world No. 1 player Jannik Sinner successfully defended his Australian Open title against Germany’s Alexander Zverev, 6-3, 7-6(4), 6-3. The win marks Sinner’s third Grand Slam title, making him the first Italian to do so. 

The celebrity-filled US Open Men’s Final on Sunday concluded with a history as No. 1 player Jannik Sinner became the first ever Italian man to win the title. The 23-year-old defeated homegrown player Taylor Fritz, 6-3, 6-4, 7-5.

Early this week, it came to light that Men’s World No. 1 tennis player Jannik Sinner had tested positive twice for clostebol, a type of steroid banned by the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA). However, the ITIA also ruled no fault or negligence on the 23-year-old Italian’s part for the positive results. The decision has sparked an uproar among the professional tennis community.
