It’s official! Dune and Blade Runner 2049 director Denis Villenueve will be the director of the next James Bond film, the first after Amazon acquired creative rights to the property from Eon Productions. Amy Pascal and David Heyman will serve as producers.

The 007 will now report to Jeff Bezos. The billionaire’s Amazon MGM Studio just acquired full creative control of the James Bond franchise from long term producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson. The duo’s Eon Productions – inherited from their father Albert Broccoli – has been the custodian of the iconic espionage property since its 1962 debut.
