In September and October this year, World No. 2 Iga Swiatek missed three tournaments: Korea Open (September 16-22), China Open (September 25 -October 6) and Wuhan Open (October 7-13). Now, it has come to light that during that period, the Polish player was actually under suspension after testing positive for the prohibited substance trimetazidine (TMZ). The International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) confirmed it on Thursday.

Early this month, No. 1 player Iga Swiatek parted ways with her coach of three years, Tomasz Wiktorowski, after a series of disappointing grass court and hard court results. Now, she has hired Wim Fissette as her new coach. The Belgian coach is a well known figure in the tennis world, having coached four-time Grand Slam winner and former world No. 1 Naomi Osaka until last month. 

After three seasons together, tennis world No. 1 Iga Świątek is parting ways with Coach Tomasz Wiktorowski. The Polish player announced the decision on Instagram.
