Anya Taylor-Joy is officially journeying to Middle Earth. “The Queen’s Gambit” actress has been cast as an elf named Seren in The Lord of the Rings prequel, “The Hunt for Gollum”, directed by Andy Serkis, Gollum himself, for a December 2027 release.

The Marrakech International Film Festival has unveiled the group of artists and filmmakers who will serve on the jury for its upcoming edition, taking place from November 28 to December 6. Among the highlights are Anya Taylor-Joy and Jenna Ortega, who join the panel responsible for evaluating this year’s competition titles.

“The Queen’s Gambit” is a drama television series which premiered on Netflix on 23 October (Friday). In the course of 7 episodes, we follow Beth Harmon (an orphan) who appears to be an ordinary girl until she plays her first game of chess. Over the years, she perfects her game and gets her thinking clearer. At the age of 16, she competes for the US Open championship. It is then when her isolation becomes frightening and she looks for different ways of escape.

The official trailer for “The New Mutants” was released earlier today by the 20th Century FOX. The movie directed by Josh Boone stars Anya Taylor-Joy (as Illyana Rasputin / Magik), Maisie Williams (as Rahne Sinclair / Wolfsbane), Antonio Banderas, Charlie Heaton (as Sam Guthrie) and Alice Braga (as Dr. Cecilia Reyes).
