Superman Faces Public Outrage in New Trailer

430views

The new trailer for Superman just dropped. Directed by James Gunn of Guardians of the Galaxy fame and starring David Corenswet as the titular Man of Steel, the three minute trailer delivers plenty of tease for what’s to come.

The trailer begins with a casual, kinda flirty, exchange between Lois Lane (Rachel Brosnahan) and Supe’s alter ego Clark Kent with the latter agreeing to be interviewed as Superman. It doesn’t take long before their banter devolves into an argument over the ethics of Superman saving people regardless of political landscape and its repercussions – such a 21st century problem!

Goodness in a world that is ever so divisive about the definition of good and evil seems to be at the center of the film’s dilemma. It has been the challenge in adapting Superman for modern audiences, something Gunn apparently tackles head on for his first big screen gig as DCU’s new head honcho.

The trailer then zooms past snippets of various Supes nemesis including Lex Luthor (Nicholas Hoult), The Engineer (Angela Spica), and Rick Flag Sr. (Frank Grillo), whom you might know from Peacemaker.

Superman flies into theaters July 11. Watch the trailer below!
