“Stray Kids: The DominATE Experience” Concert Film Reaches #1 At The Global Box Office

In a week dominated by Super Bowl talks, Stray Kids went and conquered the global box office with their concert movie “Stray Kids: The dominATE Experience”, which opened to more than $19 million worldwide this past weekend, outpacing every other release at international cinemas. The documentary-style film, distributed by Universal Pictures International and Bleecker Street, combines footage from the group’s sold-out dominATE World Tour performances at SoFi Stadium with behind-the-scenes material that highlights the personal stories of all eight members — Bang Chan, Lee Know, Changbin, Hyunjin, Han, Felix, Seungmin and I.N.
The dominATE Experience claimed the No. 1 spot in the global box office chart during Super Bowl weekend, grossing approximately $14.2 million internationally and $5.7 million domestically in its first weekend of release. In many territories — including Germany, the U.K. and Mexico — the concert film set opening records for Korean-language releases and became the first K-pop movie to reach No. 1 worldwide, besting past concert films like Taylor Swift’s The Official Release Party of a Showgirl, Break the Silence: The Movie, Bring the Soul: The Movie, BTS World Tour Love Yourself in Seoul and Moonage Daydream. The film also performed strongly in IMAX formats, contributing a significant portion of its total gross and reflecting the cinematic appeal of live concert experiences on the big screen.
Directed by Paul Dugdale with documentary segments by Farah X, the film captures the energy and devotion of Stray Kids’ fanbase, known as STAY, and offers an immersive look at the group’s dynamic live presence and emotional connection with audiences. The dominATE World Tour itself was one of the highest-grossing K-pop tours of 2025, spanning multiple continents and drawing massive crowds — background that helped fuel excitement for the cinema release.
The strong box office reception for “Stray Kids: The dominATE Experience” underscores the global reach of K-pop concert cinema and cements Stray Kids’ status not just as chart-topping recording artists but as major live-event draws. As the film still has major markets like Japan, Hong Kong, and many more in its global rollout, the film’s box office dominance is yet to showcase its full scale.
