Netflix has unveiled the official trailer for Stranger Things 5: Volume 2 – and it wastes no time signaling that the endgame for Hawkins will be bigger, darker and far more emotional than anything the series has attempted before. Watch the trailer below!
The trailer picks up directly after the end of episode 4 in Volume 1 where (spoiler alert) Will is revealed to possess Vecna’s sentient power. But, danger is far from over. “We failed. We never stood a chance,” he said, dejected after the Demogorgons succeeded in kidnapping children at Vecna’s behest.
Among the most talked-about moments are glimpses of the newly reunited Eleven and Kali teaming up to destroy Vecna, while Mike leads the gang into the Upside Down to retrieve the kidnapped kids and find his missing sister, Holly. Holly, who’s been trapped with Max in Henry/Vecna’s memory prison, is seen facing the wrath of her captor with a horrified expression. In a particularly gut-wrenching moment, Steve and Dustin make an ominous pact of “you die, I die” – sending fans into meltdowns over the safety of this fan-favorite pairing. With the final battle looming ahead, everyone’s fate is up in the air – forming the perfect storm of suspense heading into the finale.
