Ahead of its July release, Sony and Marvel’s “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” has dropped its latest trailer. With it, the fourquel finally introduces The Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) into the webslinger’s story as the character – played by Tom Holland – deals with a mysterious condition affecting his power.
Building up on the previous trailer, which focused on Peter Parker’s life after he made the entire world forget about his existence, this trailer gives a glimpse into his latest challenge as Spider-Man. It looks like the wallcrawler is dealing with some sort of virus corrupting his power. In search of help, Peter then seeks out Bruce Banner, now a lecturer at his university – which somehow leads to him reawakening the latter’s green alter ego.
Elsewhere, the trailer features fresh glimpses of Zendaya’s MJ, now a college student who has no memory of who Peter was. However, the two will once again get entangled in an intricate web as Spidey’s woe somehow reaches her. The Punisher – played by Jon Bernthal – also makes his entrance in the film as Spider-Man’s latest antagonist.
Directed by Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings filmmaker Destin Daniel Cretton, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is the fourth solo Spider-Man film starring Tom Holland. The movie swings into theaters on July 31.
