Selena Gomez has recently attracted an unwanted attention after unpleasant remarks about her kidney transplant were made on the new series “Saved by the Bell.”
The series premiered online on 25 November (Wednesday) and featured several scenes where actors were making fun of Selena’s health and kidney operations. These scenes provoked backlash over the weekend, and Peacock (streaming service) was left with no other option than to issue an official apology to Selena and remove offensive scenes in question.
“We apologize. It was never our intention to make light of Selena’s health. We have been in touch with her team and will be making a donation to her charity, The Selena Gomez Fund for Lupus Research at USC,” said the official statement issued by Peacock.
The actress has yet to comment on the entire situation.
