Princess Beatrice, the granddaughter of the late Queen Elizabeth II and daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, is expecting her second child with husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi. The happy news is delivered through a statement by Buckingham Palace.
“Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice and Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are very pleased to announce that they are expecting their second child together in early spring; a sibling for Wolfie, aged eight, and Sienna, aged three,” says the statement.
The statement further relays that King Charles III, Beatrice’s uncle “has been informed and both families are delighted with the news.”
The announcement comes with a couple of new photos of Beatrice and her little family. The first picture depicts the royal in an intimate embrace with her husband. The second shows Edoardo holding hands with Wolfie and Sienna as they stroll through the great outdoors.
Beatrice and Edoardo, a real estate developer and a member of the Italian aristocracy, tied the knot in an intimate ceremony at the height of the pandemic in 2020. The couple’s first daughter, Sienna, was born in September 2021. The 36-year-old Princess is also stepmother to Wolfie, Edoardo’s son from his previous relationship.
Also sharing the joy of the baby news is Beatrice’s mother, Sarah Ferguson. On Instagram, the Duchess of York posts a series of pictures with Beatrice, Sienna, and Beatrice’s younger sister Princess Eugenie.
“A very proud GiGi/Mum today. Such an incredible blessing and an embrace to my heart,” she writes. “Wolfie, August, Ernie and Sienna will be over the moon to have the fifth member of the five aside!”
The baby is reportedly due in spring next year.
