Keke Palmer is currently recognized as an actress and a singer, but have you ever wondered what brought her to fame?

Keke scored her first film role in “Barbershop 2: Back in Business” in 2004, where she portrayed the niece of Queen Latifah. Shortly after, Keke’s family moved to California so that the actress could pursue an acting career.

Keke pursued a singing career instead. She participated in American Juniors in 2003, however, her audition scenes were edited out. In 2005, she signed a recording deal with the Atlantic Records. Her debut single “All My Girlz” was released in 2006 and featured on the soundtrack for “Akeelah and the Bee.”

Keke debut album “So Uncool” was released on 18 September 2007, but it failed to perform well in the United States. Her second studio album, “Waited to Exhale,” was released on 26 June 2016, but it did not achieve a commercial success.

Keke returned to television and films with great success. She appeared in such productions as “Hustlers,” “Pimp,” “Brotherly Love,” “Jump In,” “Berlin Station” and “Scream Queens.” She is currently portraying Kym in the anthology slasher television series “Scream.”
