Rise to Fame: Charli XCX

732views

Charli XCX is a recognized musician now with numerous hits, but have you ever wondered how she rose to such fame?

Charli was interested in music since she was a kid. At the age of 14, she started writing her own songs. Shortly after, she convinced her parents to let her record her first album “14.” The singer posted tracks from the record on MySpace and quickly caught the attention of a promoter running clubs in London. It was then when she officially adopted the stage name Charli XCX.

In 2010, Charli signed a recording deal with the Asylum Records. One year later, she released two singles – “Stay Away” and “Nuclear Seasons,” the former of which was named one of the best tracks of 2011.

In 2012, the singer was featured on “I Love It” which was her original song re-recorded by Swedish duo Icona Pop. The song became a hit worldwide and it peaked at no. 7 at the US Billboard Hot 100.

In 2013, Charli released her debut album “True Romance,” however, it did not perform well on the charts. The breakthrough came in 2014 with the sophomore album “Sucker,” which was followed by a third record “Charli” in 2019.

With a new album in the works, Charli XCX has a very bright and successful future ahead of her!
