Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Reportedly Planning U.K. Visit With Archie and Lilibet, Raising Hopes of Royal Reunion

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are expected to return to the United Kingdom next month with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, for what would be the family’s first visit to Britain since 2022. The trip, tied to events marking one year until the 2027 Invictus Games in Birmingham, has also fueled speculation that the children could reunite with their grandfather, King Charles III, during the visit.

According to reports, Harry and Meghan plan to bring Archie, 7, and Lilibet, 5, to the U.K. between July 7 and 11. While the children are not expected to appear at any public engagements, the visit would create a rare opportunity for them to spend time with King Charles, who has only met Lilibet once and has not seen either grandchild since the late Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations four years ago. Buckingham Palace has not confirmed whether such a meeting will take place.

The planned visit comes after years of strained relations between the Sussexes and the royal family following Harry and Meghan’s decision to step back as senior working royals in 2020. Harry has repeatedly expressed hope for reconciliation with his family, though his relationship with both the King and Prince William has remained complicated in the years since the publication of his memoir Spare and the couple’s series of televised interviews.

Questions surrounding security continue to hover over the trip. Reports over the weekend suggested Harry had considered scaling back or even canceling the family visit after renewed concerns over police protection, though discussions about the arrangements remain ongoing. The Duke has long maintained that adequate security is essential before bringing Meghan and their children back to Britain.

If the visit proceeds as planned, it will mark Archie and Lilibet’s first time in the U.K. in four years. If it includes a long-awaited meeting between the young royals and King Charles, that could signal hope for a potential reconciliation between the family and the estranged Sussexes.
