Prime Video Scores A Hit With Hockey Romance “Off Campus”, Season 2 Already Underway

After “The Summer I Turned Pretty”, Prime Video may have found a new romance series to heat up the summer in the hockey romance drama “Off Campus.” 

Following a stellar debut early this May, the streamer is ready for a rematch at Briar University: Off Campus has officially been renewed for a second season, extending the streamer’s adaptation of Elle Kennedy’s bestselling hockey-romance novels.

Based on Kennedy’s wildly popular Off Campus book series, the show follows college hockey star Garrett Graham and aspiring musician Hannah Wells as their fake-dating arrangement turns into a deeply emotional romance at fictional Briar University. Season 1 stars Belmont Cameli as Garrett and Ella Bright as Hannah, alongside Stephen Kalyn, Mika Abdalla, Antonio Cipriano, Jalen Thomas Brooks and Josh Heuston.

Prime Video renewed the series before Season 1 even premiered, a rare vote of confidence that reflected both the books’ massive online fandom and early enthusiasm surrounding the adaptation. Since debuting in May, the series has become a Top 10 streaming performer for the platform while sparking heavy discussion across TikTok, Reddit and BookTok communities already familiar with Kennedy’s novels.

Audience reception has leaned strongly positive, particularly among romance viewers drawn to the show’s blend of emotional trauma, comedy and explicit romance. Critics have also responded warmly, with Decider and other outlets praising the adaptation’s willingness to embrace the books’ steamy tone rather than dilute it for television.

The renewal announcement has also fueled intense speculation over which couple will anchor Season 2. While the books move between interconnected romances, recent interviews with creator Louisa Levy and casting developments strongly suggest the next chapter will center on Dean Di Laurentis and Allie Hayes, played by Stephen Kalyn and Mika Abdalla. New additions, including India Fowler as Grace Ivers, have also sparked theories that elements of The Mistake could be folded into the upcoming season.

With scripts reportedly already completed and production gearing up quickly, Prime Video appears eager to keep the momentum going for one of streaming’s newest romance obsessions.
