The Harry Potter series for HBO is in full swing and is set to run for a decade. This news is sure to warm the hearts of Potterheads!
It has just been officially announced in an exclusive report by Variety that Peter Serafinowicz will play Peeves in the official Harry Potter series. Peeves can be described as the bane of Hogwarts students in J.K. Rowling’s books. The poltergeist wears flashy clothes and spends his time causing trouble, especially for the school caretaker, Argo Filch.
In recent years, Peter Serafinowicz has appeared in the live-action adaptation of How to Train Your Dragon and the Netflix original Christmas movie Jingle Bell Heist. So he may be a familiar face to many, even though they’re seeing him in a different light in the Harry Potter series.
Throughout the eight film adaptations, the chaotic poltergeist Peeves never appeared even once. However, comedian Rik Mayall did film some scenes, but unfortunately, they were never included, not even in the extended versions of the first films.
The announcement of the Harry Potter TV Series cast, which includes all the characters mentioned in the books so far, has left fans very excited about the new era of magic that is beginning. The series aims to be more faithful to the books.
With 8 episodes for the first season, Dominic McLaughlin will play Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton will star as Hermione Granger, and Alastair Stout will play Ron Weasley. The series premieres this Christmas and has already been renewed for a second season (Chamber Of Secrets).
