Netflix’s Tudum showcase gives a glimpse into the highly anticipated season 2 of One Piece, particularly the introduction of a huge fan favorite: Tony Tony Chopper.
The reindeer-human hybrid doctor will be joining the Straw Hat Pirates for season 2, raising anticipation through the roof. To drum up interest, Netflix released a teaser featuring the character in a skit where he supposedly had to explain all about season 2 to viewers.
The biggest revelation beside Chopper’s much lauded CGI character design and his signature traits (he always hides the wrong way!) is that the series is coming back in 2026. That is a long way away but surely Netflix will have plenty of things to tide things over for the time being.
Adapted from the manga series by Eiichiro Oda, One Piece is one of the most recognizable IPs in the world. Since its 1999 debut, the manga (and subsequent anime show) have amassed passionate fan followings worldwide. The Netflix live action series premiered at Netflix on 31 August 2023 and became an immediate hit. There’s no date set for season 2 aside from it being in 2026, but what’s certain is that Chopper will join returning human crew that counts Inaki Godoy, Emily Rudd, Mackenyu Arata, Taz Skylar, and Jacob Gibson.
