“Off Campus” Season 2 Sets Dean and Allie as Leads, Officially Begins Production

Prime Video’s newest hockey romance phenomenon isn’t wasting any time getting back on the ice. Production has officially begun on Season 2 of Off Campus, with fan-favorite couple Allie Hayes and Dean Di Laurentis stepping into the spotlight as the series’ new central romance.

The streamer confirmed last week that Season 2 will focus on Allie and Dean, played by Mika Abdalla and Stephen Kalyn, respectively. The pair emerged as one of Season 1’s breakout storylines, with their friends-with-benefits dynamic and undeniable chemistry quickly becoming a favorite among viewers. The new season is already in production in Vancouver, just weeks after the show wrapped its successful debut run.

Based on Elle Kennedy’s bestselling Off Campus novels, the Prime Video adaptation follows the interconnected love lives of students at Briar University, where hockey, romance and personal drama frequently collide. Season 1 adapted The Deal, centering on Garrett Graham and Hannah Wells, played by Belmont Cameli and Ella Bright. Like the books, the series is designed to shift focus between couples while maintaining an ensemble cast. Think Bridgerton-style lead swap, but on a hockey field instead of Regency-era ballrooms.

The strategy has paid off for Prime Video. Off Campus attracted 36 million viewers worldwide in its first 12 days, becoming one of the platform’s strongest young-adult launches and a major hit with BookTok audiences already familiar with Kennedy’s novels.

While the books originally moved next to Logan and Grace’s story, the television adaptation has opted to fast-track Dean and Allie, whose relationship was established throughout the first season. Co-showrunner Louisa Levy said the creative team was eager to continue their romance after laying substantial groundwork in Season 1.

The upcoming season will still feature returning favorites including Hannah and Garrett, while new cast addition India Fowler joins as Grace Ivers, laying the foundation for the Logan-Grace romantic storyline within the growing Briar University universe.
