Millie Bobby Brown Slams The Media For Dissecting Her Appearance

257views

Millie Bobby Brown recently went online to confront the barrage of articles dissecting her looks. In the three minute video posted to her Instagram, the 21-year-old star personally called out the names of journalists who wrote disparaging headlines focusing on her face, body, and styling choice, deeming them “bullying”.

The recent articles emerged after Brown, currently promoting her Netflix movie “The Electric State”, appeared on the red carpets with 90’s style blond curls and more mature looks. Many articles basically called her old, comparing her to “someone’s mom” or speculating about her going under the knife.

“I grew up in front of the world and for some reason people can’t seem to grow up with me,” the actress, all barefaced, said in the video. “Instead, they act like I’m supposed to stay frozen in time, like I should still look the way I did on Stranger Things season one. And because I don’t, I’m now a target.”

Reading off a list of disparaging headlines like “Why are Gen Zers like Millie Bobby Brown ageing so badly?” and the journalists who wrote them, the “Enola Holmes” star didn’t mince words.

“This isn’t journalism. This is bullying,” she said. “The fact that adult writers are spending their time dissecting my face, my body, my choices, it’s disturbing.”

“The fact that some of these articles are written by women? Even worse,” she added.

After stressing that she “refuses to apologize for growing up”, the actress ended her message with a call to “do better.”

“Not just for me, but for every young girl who deserves to grow up without fear of being torn apart for simply existing.”
