Miley Cyrus Returns to Disney to Celebrate Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special

Two decades after Hannah Montana first debuted on Disney Channel, Miley Cyrus is revisiting the role that launched her career for “Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special” – set to premiere on Disney+ on March 24, 2026.
The special, celebrating two-decade legacy of the iconic Disney Channel teen comedy, will be filmed in front of a live studio audience and includes a sit-down interview with the “Flower” songstress hosted by Alex Cooper of “Call Her Daddy” fame. The special will feature never-before-seen footage, recreated sets from the original series and behind-the-scenes stories from the show’s production.
In promotional footage released ahead of the premiere, Cyrus returns to familiar ground — walking through reconstructed versions of the Stewart family home set and briefly putting on Hannah Montana’s signature blonde wig, a symbol closely associated with the character.
Cyrus described the anniversary celebration as a tribute to fans who supported the series for years. In statements released around the announcement, she said the show grew into “a shared experience” that shaped both her life and the lives of viewers who followed Miley Stewart’s adventures.
Hannah Montana originally aired from 2006 to 2011 and followed a teenage girl living a secret double life as an internationally famous pop star. The series became one of Disney Channel’s biggest global franchises, spawning concert tours, multiple soundtrack albums and the 2009 theatrical film “Hannah Montana: The Movie.”
The upcoming Disney+ event also reunites Cyrus with members of her family who appeared in the original show, including Billy Ray Cyrus, who portrayed her on-screen father Robby Ray Stewart.
