The highly anticipated first trailer for Marvel’s reiteration of The Fantastic Four finally takes off. Directed by Adam Shakman (WandaVision), The Fantastic Four: First Steps introduces Marvel’s First Family to the MCU and stars Pedro Pascal as Dr Reed Richards/Mr Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as Susan Storm/Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm/Human Torch and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm/The Thing.
The film will follow the team as they defend their world from the planet-devouring Galactus. The just released trailer gives a glimpse of the film’s 1960’s settings and its retro futuristic visual. It also teases the dynamic between the fab four, who live together in Manhattan’s Baxter Building after a cosmic accident gives them superpowers.
The trailer does a great job teasing out just enough to entice fans, while leaving some to the imagination. While we get a glimpse of Invisible Woman’s force field, Human Torch’s fire power and The Thing’s hulking strength, the trailer notably left off showcasing Mr Fantastic’s elastic ability and the appearance of arch villain Dr. Doom, set to be played by Iron Man star Robert Downey Jr.
The film, the fourth live action adaptation of the comic book, will hit theaters on July 25.
