Madison Keys defeated Maya Joint 6-4, 6-0 in the second round of the US Open and advanced to the third round. Keys took roughly one hour to hold off Joint in a business-as-usual match.
“I’m definitely really happy with how I played that match today. I feel like she came out playing really well. It took a little time to get used to her ball, but once I figured some things out, I was happy how I was able to keep the momentum going,” said Madison Keys in a post-match interview.
Madison Keys will face Elise Mertens on Friday for a place in the fourth round.
