Linda Nosková reached a career milestone on Saturday, defeating fellow Czech Karolína Muchová 6-2, 5-7, 6-3 to win the Wimbledon women’s singles championship. The 21-year-old claimed her first Grand Slam title after a two-hour, 18-minute battle on Centre Court, becoming the first Czech woman to lift the Venus Rosewater Dish since Markéta Vondroušová in 2023. The victory also sends Nosková to a career-high world No. 7 in the latest WTA rankings.

The championship match featured the first all-Czech Wimbledon women’s final since 1986. Nosková took command early with aggressive returning and clean ball-striking to secure the opening set. Muchová responded with her trademark variety to edge the second set and force a decider. The momentum shifted one final time in the third as Nosková broke serve midway through the set before confidently serving out the biggest victory of her career. The result ended Muchová’s bid for a maiden Grand Slam title despite another impressive run on grass.

Nosková’s path to the championship highlighted her growing stature on the WTA Tour. She defeated Marta Kostyuk in straight sets in the semifinals after overcoming several difficult opponents during the opening week. Earlier in the tournament, Muchová booked her place in the final by outlasting Coco Gauff in a dramatic three-set semifinal that ranked among the event’s best matches. The all-Czech title clash underscored the depth of the country’s women’s tennis program, which has produced multiple Wimbledon champions over the past two decades.

Saturday’s triumph marks the biggest achievement of Nosková’s young career. At just 21, the Czech star has added her name to Wimbledon history, earned her first major singles title and climbed into the WTA’s top 10 – remarkable feats signaling the arrival of a future star in women’s tennis.
