Lady Gaga was one of the standout stars during Sunday’s Grammy Awards. Along with Bruno Mars, the singer won Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for their rousing ballad “Die With A Smile.”

Upon accepting the awards, Bruno gave a short speech thanking his duet partner, followed by Gaga telling him: “I don’t know music without Bruno.”

The pop diva continued by showing her support to the LGBTQ+ community, which has been facing turmoil ever since President Donald Trump enacted policies restricting the trans community.

“I just want to say tonight that trans people are not invisible,” she said. “Trans people deserve love, the queer community deserves to be lifted up. Music is love. Thank you.”

Earlier in the ceremony, the duo took to the stage to perform “California Dreamin’”, a tribute to the state’s recent wildfire woes. While this made it to the telecast, Gaga dropped a surprise to fans by performing her latest single “Abracadabra” for the first time during the ceremony’s commercial break.

Returning to her edgy subversive roots, “Abracadabra” is a fast-tempo dance track which benefited greatly from Gaga’s committed theatrical stage presence. A music video for the song simultaneously debuted in the commercial break and online. In it, Gaga started off by ominously declaring, “the category is… dance or die,” before launching into an elaborate dance number clad in avant-garde costumes.

“Abracadabra” is the third single off of Gaga’s forthcoming album, “Mayhem.” It was preceded by the Grammy-winning “Die With A Smile” and “Disease”.
