“KPop Demon Hunters” Tops Netflix Charts in 93 Countries

The new Netflix film KPop Demon Hunters is currently slaying Netflix charts worldwide. Since its release on June 20, the pic has been ranking first in 41 countries including South Korea, the United States, Taiwan, Thailand, the Philippines, Singapore, and Portugal. More impressively, the film also landed in Top 10 in 93 countries, proving its global popularity in such a short time.

The Sony Animations pic tells the story of Huntrix, a K-Pop group trio of Rumi, Mira, and Zoey who moonlights as demon slayers by night. They must battle for the soul of their fans with a boy group called Saja Boys, who are really demons in disguise sent from the underworld. 

With thrilling music and action-packed plot, “KPop Demon Hunters” receives a great reception from both critics and audiences alike. It currently sits at 88% on Rotten Tomatoes meter, indicating strong critical receptions. Its original songs – produced by revered K-Pop producers like Teddy, Jenna Andrews, and Lindgren – have been lauded for their infectious energy and are steadily climbing on the music charts. In particular, fans are loving “Golden”, Huntrix’s empowering pop anthem, and ”Soda Pop“, Saja Boys’ upbeat dance track. 

“KPop Demon Hunters” features the voice cast of Arden Cho, Ahn Hyo Seop, Lee Byung Hun, Ken Jeong, and many more. It is co-directed by Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans.
