Katy Perry Loses “Dark Horse” Copyright Battle

Bad news for Katy Perry and her fans.

The jury decided that Katy Perry’s smash hit single “Dark Horse” was copied from a 2009 Christian rap song “Joyful Noise,” although the singer denied this fact and claimed she had never heard the song before.

After losing the trial, they now move on to the penalty phase, which is scheduled to begin on Tuesday with opening arguments, and will ultimately determine how much Perry and other defendants owe for copyright infringement. It is expected to last two days.

Katy was not present when they read the verdict and did not comment on the news.
