Pop singer Katy Perry and Lord of the Rings actor Orlando Bloom are reportedly headed for a breakup. Rumors are rampant that the pair, who has been in an on-off relationship since 2016, is close to calling it quits amid career disappointment on Perry’s front.
According to Page Six, the couple’s relationship has been on the rocks since late last year. The dismal reception to Perry’s latest album “143”, her first release in four years, is reportedly to blame for the rift brewing between the couple. It allegedly put a lot of stress on the “Firework” singer, and things weren’t getting much better with the lackluster reviews of Perry’s latest concert tour, which was built around “143”.
Perry is currently on the Australian leg of her world tour, without Bloom. The prolonged distance reportedly adds more strain to the relationship. Adding fuel to the fire, Bloom is set to attend Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez’s upcoming Venice wedding alone. The two couples share a longstanding friendship, making Perry’s absence all the more glaring.
Perry and Bloom went public with their romance in 2016. They got engaged in 2019 and welcomed daughter Daisy Dove in 2020.
Neither Bloom nor Perry has said anything about the roaring rumors.
