Perhaps… in another life.
Following months of speculations, singer Katy Perry and her Pirates of the Caribbean actor fiance Orlando Bloom have confirmed that they have called it quits after 9 years. The exes relayed the news through a joint statement released by their representatives.
“Due to the abundance of recent interest and conversation surrounding Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry’s relationship, representatives have confirmed that Orlando and Katy have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on co-parenting,” the statement read.
The statement continued: “They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is — and always will be — raising their daughter with love, stability, and mutual respect.”
Perry and Bloom first sparked dating rumors back in 2016. After a brief split in 2017, the couple rekindled their romance in early 2018 and had been going strong since then. They got engaged in 2019 and welcomed daughter Daisy in 2020.
However, signs of trouble reportedly began last year amid the negative reception of Perry’s latest album, “143”. The failure allegedly put a strain on the relationship that they never could come back from. While Perry is away on her Lifetimes Tour in Australia, Bloom has been spotted enjoying single life – including hanging out with a mystery woman at Jeff Bezos’ wedding last weekend.
