Kanye and Ty Dolla $ign Drop New Album

On August 2, rappers Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign surprise dropped their brand new album “Vultures 2”. The album features 16 songs, with “Slide” as its first single. The song was first streamed on Yeezy.com hours before the album dropped.

The album itself isn’t completely a surprise. Its predecessor, “Vultures 1”, was released early this year. The “Donda” rapper first teased the album all the way back in January, the second part of a trilogy. However, it kept missing its supposed release dates. The original March launch came and went, as was the replacement date on May 3. Finally, Ye seemingly finalized the album was going to drop last Friday, only to miss by 24 hours.

Nonetheless, he’s finally back, roping in high-profile collaborators for the discography of “Vultures 2” including Lil Wayne, Don Toliver, Kodak Black, Playboi Carti, Future, Lil Baby, Charlie Wilson, Young Thug and many more.

Of course, it’s not Kanye if he doesn’t stir up controversy. One track in the album has garnered infamy for name-dropping his longtime public enemy, Taylor Swift.

In the song “Lifestyle (Demo)”, the 46-year-old includes a line that goes “I twist my Taylor spliffs tight at the end like Travis Kelce.” The lyric clearly refers to Swift’s Kansas Chief tight end boyfriend. The “Cruel Summer” singer then seemingly sent a subtle comeback, wearing a T-shirt that read “I bet you think about me” in a segment on her Eras Tour concert in Warsaw, one day after the song came out.

The album would be a litmus test of Kanye’s current standing with fans, especially following his highly controversial 2022 antisemitic rant and bizarre public behaviors with wife Bianca Censori.
